Concept
UNE VIE DE CHAT is a special edition celebrating the 140th anniversary of the launch of Le Chat Noir, a newspaper dedicated to publicising the cabaret of the same name in Montmartre, Paris.
UNE VIE DE CHAT is a French expression for an easy, quiet and comfortable life, associated with this musical style.
This Special Edition aims to highlight the French cabaret, associated with the bohemian and hedonistic lifestyle of the city nightlife. It consists of a Box Container with Vinyl Disc, a Booklet describing the history of French cabaret and some of its most notable figures, a Pocket Bottle and the Premium Access Card to the Website, which presents itself as an extension to the physical objects, also including some Premium content.

Design
This project’s visual identity draws inspiration from late 18th- and early 19th-century art movements, namely Art Nouveau and Art Deco, two styles that greatly influenced lifestyle and aesthetics of their time. Through sinuous, organic lines (a feature of Art Nouveau), a cat weaves playfully through the letterforms of the Plaza typeface (an Art Deco inspired typeface by Alan Meeks). Plaza’s distinctly modernist character conveys elegance and sophistication, qualities associated with a bohemian and hedonistic lifestyle.
The chosen colors, a deep red-violet and a dark reddish-brown, evoke the atmospheric world of cabaret, with its theatrical, sensual, and nocturnal allure. Finishing details, such as the application of a gold gradient and UV printing techniques, elevate the project with a sense of luxury and glamour, making this special edition feel truly exclusive.
